"Jolly" Fun!

Jolly the Giraffe was trying out his new comedy material on me on a Colorado car trip! That Jolly is too funny.

My first big trip to Colorado!

You'll never believe where Mom and Dad took me over my first 4th of July.... COLORADO! My first plane ride! We visited Rob and Heather - and they were so fun and even let me play with their cats. We went to Manitou Springs, Boulder, a 4th of July parade, and just hung out. We flew home the night of the 4th, and we got to see fireworks from the airplane (well, my mom and dad did... i was sleeping)

They tell me I was really 'good' in the plane, and just played with all the people around me. I didn't cry once!

First time Uncle Rob held me! We got along GREAT!!

Their deck looked out on the mountains of Colorado. We loved relaxing out there.

Uncle Rob makes gin --- and this is the bar where they distill the gin and sell it. I had fun checking things out :)

Growing so fast!

Well, much has happened since our last posting, so we will start small and update as we can in the next few days. From 4 months, to 5 months, and now almost 5 1/2, our little man is growing up so much. He is doing SO MANY new things - it is absolutely amazing. He falls asleep on his own now (whoo hoo!), he has a tooth, he eats rice cereal and has had some squash, he sleeps on his belly, and he is constantly moving! He's finally figured out his morning nap - and afternoon nap, for the most part - and it is so wonderful to have a well-rested, happily adjusted baby. He loves people and dogs, and will smile at anyone!

Yes, that is a phone book under my feet because my legs aren't long enough to touch the ground yet....

And yes, I am holding the bottle all by myself - my favorite thing to do.

Memorial Weekend in Duluth!

So we took our first family trip over Memorial Weekend, and it was SO much fun! We got to stay at the Inn on Lake Superior, so we were right next to the water and got to do fun things like s'mores on the beach, fun pool time, and walks by the lake. It was a little cold, so Mom and Dad dressed me in snowsuits and winter hats, but we still had a great time. Do you like my super cool jean jacket?

My first time in a pool! I wasn't too sure about the cold water, but I didn't cry! I just took it all in. I enjoyed my warm bath immediately following the pool much more, however.

We went to Gooseberry Falls, and I loved it! We tried to take a family picture, but everytime Dad turned around to get my face, I would quickly turn back to look at the water. It was super noisy and cool. Plus, it rained the minute before we went for our walk, and literally the second after I got back in the car. Perfect! Plus, I LOVE the Baby Bjorn!

I was sleeping until this big boat blew its super load horn. Mom and Dad thought this was pretty cool, though.

We did have an awesome first family vacay. I didn't sleep so well at night - I wasn't at home in my own room, so I wasn't as comfortable - but the rest of the time I was a gem and we had some great family memories!

(Oh,and I also am in my crib now at home, starting on June 1st. Mom and Dad are still sleeping on the floor of my bedroom because they miss me too much to be in the other room.... :), but I am sleeping awesome - through the night, mostly!)

3 MONTHS OLD! Looking back on Benjamin's last month...

From Mom: "It is so hard to believe my little baby is already 3 months old. He is such an amazement to Patrick and me. He is so expressive now, and is exploring so many more things. One day, I watched him have a conversation with the ceiling - he laughed and talked to the ceiling for so long :). He has discovered his hands --- he loves to hold them together and looks at them a little cross-eyed. So adorable. And he really studies things - it is amazing. He loves to bat at toys and is starting to grab toys and flail them around. Benjamin is SO strong - the pediatician yesterday said he is surprisingly strong. And growing - he weighs 14 lbs already!

Because I am back at work as of last week, Benjamin is now enjoying daycare 3 days a week and time with Grandma and Grandpa Marso 2 days a week. He loves both so much, but I really LOVE to have him back with me every night.

THis was taken after Benjamin's 2 month shots. He was such a trooper -- he SCREAMED for about 2 minutes, and then was happy again. But this face.... such a sad little guy!
