Welcome, William Scott Marso!!

Our beautiful baby boy, William, was born into the world last Thursday, July 11th, at 8:54 pm.  He weighed in big at 8 lbs 10 oz, and was 23 inches long!  We got to the hospital at 1:30, and things finally wrapped up 7 hours later, vacuum and all.  I was told that if I have another baby, I have to be induced at 39 wks because I have a narrow pelvis and my Marso babies have big heads (Thanks, Daddy).   William couldn't fit face down, so he was face up coming out.  Luckily, no distress upon delivery and William was perfect.  In fact, the minute he came out, they put him on my chest and he strained his little neck and looked up at me, wide awake and alert.  And then.... he peed all over me.  It was perfect!

Pictures:

The morning of, last pictures of us just hours before heading in to the hospital.  I started having contractions at 4am, so I labored at home for about 9 1/2 hours before heading in.

First moments with William.  Such a dear baby!

First Bath!!  He was a trooper, and then found his thumb to self-sooth.

Ben was amazing in his first visit to meet William.  He was a little nervous about coming in, probably not knowing what to expect, but the minute he saw me, he came over to give me a huge hug.  He kept saying, Baby.... and just wanted to look at his little brother.  He was so gentle and loving -- I couldn't be any more proud!

Our first family picture!!

Ben brought me the flowers below, and he was SO proud of them.  I absolutely loved them, and the effort and smiles that came with them!

My boys :)

From the beginning, William has been VERY alert.  His eyes are big and beautiful!

.... and quick to fall asleep!

Our final moments before leaving the hospital.  We brought Ben with us home from the hospital, so he could be a part of welcoming William into his home!

We are so in love with both our boys.  So BLESSED!!!

Baby William - pictures of Mommy

Sadly, I didn't take as many pregnant pictures this time around as I did with Ben, mostly I think because  I have felt SO huge.  And Patrick doesn't use the camera all that much :), it is usually me taking the pictures!  So here are some that I have, with big pauses in between.  But Patrick took some nice ones of me tonight, so those are on the bottom --- I am so big!!!!

And to Baby William ---- we can't WAIT to meet you.  Your big brother sings to you all the time, brings you toys and stuffed animals, and even his milk sippy sometimes.  It is SOOO dear, and he gives you hugs more than me, and says 'baaaaby'.   We are all in awe that we will have another little baby in our lives, and feel so fortunate that we are making our family complete with you.  Come ANY DAY!  WE LOVE YOU!

Pancakes with Daddy!

Ben and Daddy have a  tradition every Saturday morning that they are able --- they make pancakes together.  Although they usually let me sleep in and I don't get to see the experience, this last weekend I happened to wake up early and see how much fun they have together.  I had to try and document it, so I did take a few pictures.

I have to say, I am so lucky that Patrick and Ben are such good friends.  I pulled up to the house this afternoon, and saw that Patrick had pulled up behind me.  So I asked Ben, "If ANYBODY in the world could open your door right now, who would you want to open it?"  and he said "DADDY!!!"  So when Patrick came and opened his door, Ben was beaming so much and so incredibly happy.  I am just so proud of Patrick for being such a great father, and so amazed that the boys have such a fabulous relationship.  I think that will really be helpful when the baby comes, and Ben will need some special Daddy Time.

Ben also has been developing the greatest imagination, and loves imaginary play.  Whether it is throwing a pretend baseball, making pancakes or other breakfast foods, having make-believe birthday parties, or heading to Chicago with Daddy (not sure how Chicago became so popular, but that is always where Ben wants to go!), it is so fun to see his mind working in so many different ways.

Check out the pancake festivities:

First to Last Day of School Pictures

Ben just finished recently his last day with Teacher Mollie and Teacher Jennifer in the young toddler room at the JCC, and he has now started the older toddler room with new teachers.  I consider it like a graduation, and I am so proud of all the accomplishments he has made throughout this past year.  He is so much more comfortable with transition, and he likes art projects and playing side by side with other kids (when he is comfortable!).  He has gone through potty training, forming full sentences, and feeling comfortable enough to sing at the top of his lungs in his classroom!  (Take Me Out To The Ballgame, of course)

And just to show how much my little guys has grown, check out these pictures!!
