8 month old superstar!

Ben amazes me more and more every day. At this age, it seems every day Patrick and I discover a new thing he has learned. Yesterday, he let go of my hand and stood alone and balanced for FIVE seconds - yes, I counted, with the 'one thousands' in between. And now he recognizes so many words. He knows "kisses", "high fives", "jump", the "ABC's", the Itsy Bitsy SPider, and many more. When we do our nighttime routine, he looks ahead to the next stop when we say goodnight to pictures around the room. And he remembers where to touch things at book he really likes with fun textures.

Now, the standing in the crib has been more of an adventure. He is having a harder time falling asleep because all he does is stand on one side, fall down, crawl to other side, stand up, and so on and so forth. So this has been a learning curve for all of us!!

But honestly, every night Patrick and I realize that we have been so blessed to have this amazing, smart, strong, and happy child.
We head out to Idaho tonight the Iowa Schreiner clan and Grandpa Scott to visit the Idaho Schreiner clan. I guarantee my next post will have some adventures to report!!
Love to all, and enjoy these pictures of my sweet little guy. :)

he loves riding his horsey and hearing us imitate animal noises, especially horses and monkeys!

this was the first time he stood in his crib - look how proud he is of himself!!

The vineyard and a sneak peak at Mommy's new haircut!

So we all went to a Vineyard in Wisconsin last weekend, and it was SO much fun, and a gorgeous day. We heard live music, we played on the grass, went on a hayride, ate outdoors, and met so many nice people! And Mommy got a new haircut - check us out!! Don't I look slick with my jacket?

I am enthralled with leaves right now.

HAY RIDE!!

I was having so much fun with the people at the next table. I kept them entertained for at least 15 minutes, talking and laughing!

my newest trick ---- HIGH FIVES!!!!

ooooh..... chocolate!

Time with Grandma and Grandpa Marso

A couple weekends ago, we spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Marso visiting cemetaries of Daddy's grandparents and relatives! It was a BEAUTIFUL day, and so much fun to spend time with my own Grandma and Grandpa. I am very lucky to have them!

And this is me at the gravesite of my Great-Grandpa Leo Marso, who I was named after!!

At the FARM!

So the first big news of the hour is that I now pull myself up to standing position, and I started eating puffs! All very exciting. Mommy and Daddy are constantly telling me how much fun I am!

But onto more fun stuff.... I got to spend some time last weekend at the FARM where my Great Grandma Bernie, Great Grandpa Dorvin, and my Grandma Oma lived! Oh, and where Mommy and Daddy got married! I had so much fun watching hanging out with Great Grandma Bernie. We made horseradish, we picked apples, we had an amazing lunch. (Well, I had sweet potatoes, but Mommy and Daddy got to enjoy Grandma's cooking!)

Look at me by Grandpa Dorvin's tree ......
And check this out - same tree 2 1/2 years ago when Mommy and Daddy got married! The farm is a VERY special place for our family.
Here I am sitting in front of the old farmhouse

I am supervising the picking of the horseradish!

APPLE PICKING!

And the making of the horseradish: We dig and wash the horseradish, then peel it and wash it again. We cut it up, then blend it with vingar and sugar. Yumm Yumm delicious.

Here are our 'assignments'

Daddy peels

Mommy washes and cuts

Great Grandma Bernie mixes and blends

And I SLEEP! :)

Afterwards, they rest while I play!!

Watch me stand! I can do this on chairs now too.....

And i loved climbing under her coffee table!

We honestly had the best time with Great Grandma Bernie. We love her SO SO much!

My bunkie

I am the luckiest Mom ever to have such an amazing little boy, who is growing up in the most astounding and magnificent way! Yesterday, I had just put him down for a nap, and when I looked at the monitor, he was SITTING UP in his crib! He hasn't mastered that on the floor yet, so for him to just sit up was amazing! Now, about seven second later he fell and hit his head, but still ---- he is amazing! His poor face is all beat up from the falls he has been taken, but he is still as happy as can be, always with a smile.

Today, we realized he can drink from a sippy cup all by himself. No big feat? I don't know, we've only introduced it to him a handful of times. Now I can put it in front of him, he grabs both handles, and puts it upside down to drink from! I am amazed at him!

Now, the biggest excitement for my little guy is his mobility. For one week and a few days, Ben has been
CRUISING around our little house. He follows us into the bathroom; he can't sit still! And most recently, he pushes himself into standing position (see second picture down). What a guy! He will be standing in no time.

As for teeth, Ben has 4, going on 5 or 6. 2 just popped through and another 2 are coming. But this doesn't make my little grasshopper crabby --- he just keeps on giggling.

Benjamin Leo Marso. My big boy. My greatest joy. My favorite moments. My lasting memories. My bunkie. I love you!!!

School Spirit and Sippy Cups!

I went to SPA's homecoming with Mommy and Daddy, and I had the best time hanging out and watching the other kids play. See my outfit? Those are SPA's colors - real team spirit!!
GO SPARTANS!

with Melissa, cheering for the home team!

And my first experience with the Sippy Cup.... I thought I was getting the hang of it, but as you can see below, I was not so smooth those first tries!
